Jamie A. Perez, Esq.
Jamie Perez has practiced family law since graduating from law school in 2010, beginning her career representing clients in high-asset and complex divorces for five years. She later moved into non-profit leadership, supervising legal services for survivors of intimate partner abuse at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) before moving back into private family law litigation.
Jamie is passionate about serving clients with compassion, empathy, and professionalism, understanding that family law litigation takes a significant toll on those involved. She aims to make the process as seamless and peaceful as possible for clients navigating a complicated and difficult time in their lives.
Jamie currently serves as a member-at-large of the State Bar of Georgia’s Family Law Section Executive Committee, chairing the Family Law Sponsorship subcommittee from 2021-2023, and previously serving on the Legislative Subcommittee. Jamie has previously served as a member of the Georgia Judicial COVID-19 Task Force Family Law Subcommittee, Co-Chair of the Fulton County Family Violence Task Force, Board of Directors of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Co-Chair of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division Family Law Committee, and the Atlanta Bar Association’s Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers.
In 2022, the Anti-Defamation League Southeast awarded Jamie the 2022 Emerging Leader Award at their annual Jurisprudence Luncheon for her work toward securing justice and fair treatment for survivors of intimate partner abuse. Jamie was also honored with the 2017 Family Law Institute Kurt Kegel Memorial Scholarship, the 2017 Atlanta Bar Association Family First Award, and the 2015 Kerry Harike Joedecke Atlanta Young Lawyer of the Year Award.
Jamie received her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served on the Law Review, and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She spent the first four years of her career in sports marketing before attending law school.
